Canon releases redesigned 24mm f/1.4L

Canon has launched a redesign of its 24mm f/1.4 L lens, the Canon 24mm f/1.4L USM II.

The new wide-angle, professional grade lens is built from 13 elements in 10 groups and features new coatings to control flare and ghosting. Two UD elements keep chromatic aberration in check – a crucial consideration for fast-aperture, wide-angle lenses.

Dust/weather sealing has been improved in the "II" version as well.

The 24mm f/1.4L USM II should be available for purchase in December, with a street price around $1700.
