The folks at lens maker Carl Zeiss have been busy this week, with several new premium glass options coming from the manufacturer this week. The latest, announced today, is the Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8.

Shooters working with EF, F, and K mount systems – which is to say, Canon, Nikon, and Pentax shooters, primarily – will be the beneficiaries of Zeiss's latest launch, a modernized version of a former Contax system lens. A minimum working distance of only 0.22 meters (around 0.7 feet) should allow for interesting perspective work with this high-end manual focus lens.
No word yet on when or if the lens will make it to the American market, but European shooters should expect to pay around €1400 for the latest version of this classic optic.
