Most Popular Digital Cameras of August 2008

With pre-Photokina announcements still a ways from store shelves in most cases, the top six slots remained relatively stable in our latest monthly listing of most searched digitial cameras. There was some minor jockeying for position, but Fuji managed to hold the top position (and two in the top ten). Ultrazooms from all the other usual players in this space – Nikon, Olympus, Sony, and Panasonic – also continued to earn spots.

Canon's PowerShot A590 took several months to climb in the rankings but continues to show strong, as does the manufacturer's generation-old SD870 ultracompact. At the other end of the spectrum, the Panasonix Lumix FZ28 hasn't even made it to retailers yet, but garnered enough of our "popular vote" to sneak into the bottom of the rankings.

This list of cameras shows you what visitors to DigitalCameraReview.com viewed most often over the past month. The rankings are determined by the number of times a particular product page is viewed by our users. The rankings below are for the entire month of August 2008.
