Wireless SD card maker Eye-Fi has partnered with photo sharing service SmugMug to provide geotagging as well as a year of free Wayport hotspot access for SmugMug members.
"For a limited time, Eye-Fi Share and Eye-Fi Card users who choose SmugMug for photo sharing will receive one year of free hotspot access, allowing photo uploads on-the-go from more than 10,000 Wayport hotspots, and geotagging, which automatically adds geographic information to each photo to indicate where the image was taken," according to an announcement from the companies today.
For the rest of 2008, both new and existing SmugMug users can upgrade their Eye-Fi Share or previous-generation Eye-Fi Card – which all users to wirelessly upload images to their home computers or directly to photo sharing or printing services on the web using Wi-Fi – to include the new features.
As an added bonus, SmugMug is also offering 20 percent discounts on memberships for new and existing users during the same period.
