Nikon made details about its latest photo editing and RAW conversion software, Capture NX 2, available to the public this week.

The latest update to Nikon's venerable system makes interface and performance improvements and adds an "Auto Retouch Brush" for automated photo corrections. Updates to Capture's noted Color Control Point tool, which allows for quick and easy area-specific image edits without the need for masking, should also get some attention from current Capture users.
Of course, RAW conversion for Nikon's proprietary NEF files and shadow/highlight adjustment using Nikon's D-Lighting technology are expected fare for the latest version of Capture.
Capture NX 2 should be available for purchase later in the month; full versions are expected to retail around $179.95, with upgrades running $109.95. In the meantime, read up on the new stuff Capture NX 2 has to offer at Nikon.com.
