Lowepro announces new, redesigned camera bags

Lowepro has provided details on the latest SLR bags to join its lineup – the new Inverse AW beltpack, as well as a redesign of the company's long-running Nova shoulder bag.

The Inverse AW (stands for "all weather") beltpack is designed with working pros in mind, providing quick access to gear for on-the-fly equipment changes and enough capacity for a standard professional kit.

As with other recently Lowepro bags, the Inverse uses a large main pocket with customizable dividers. Advertised capacity is enough to tote a pro DSLR body and attached lens, two or three additional lenses, flash units, and other small accessories. A tripod or monopod can be cinched to the underside of the pack.

In addition to the standard beltpack-style carrying arrangement (using the Inverse AW's heavy-duty lumbar belt), the new bag can be carried on a shoulder using a detachable swiveling shoulder harness. Pull-out weather covers earn the Inverse bags, which come in larger (Inverse AW 200) and smaller (Inverse AW 100) varieties, their AW designation.

Lowepro's Nova shoulder bags have been around for awhile, and in that time have become a staple piece of gear for amateur shooters looking for small, well-made bags capable of stashing a DSLR and a few lenses.

Redesigned to offer convenient weather protection via a cover that doesn't have to be removed to access the main compartment, the new Nova AW bags continue the basic concept laid out in previous Nova offerings.

Available in four colors and six capacities, ranging from small bags for a single DSLR body and lens plus a few accessories to pro-size multi-lens/multi-body versions, the Nova AW bags feature shoulder, belt, and topside handle carrying options.

No official word yet from Lowepro on pricing or availability for either line.
