The 10-megapixel Z1085 IS features a 5x Scheinder-Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens with an equivalent range of 35-175mm. Additionally, the camera employs optical image stabilization for crisp shots at slow shutter speeds or while using the longer end of the zoom.

Full manual controls are available on the Z1085. The camera also features several preset scene modes and five color effects settings. An advertised ISO sensitivity range of up to 8000 at lower image resolution is impressive and could prove useful; at full resolution, ISO ranges to 3200.
The Z1085 is also able to capture video clips and still shots optimized for HD playback. An accessory HD dock makes connecting the Z1085 IS to an HDTV simple.
As noted, the Z1085 IS should hit retailers this spring. Pricing is set at $249.
