DXG-589V Digital Camera/Media Player/Video Game Player Announced

DXG USA has announced the multi-purpose DXG-589V digital camera/camcorder/media player/video game player. A 5 megapixel sensor captures still images and videos, and the 3 inch LCD can be flipped around for "Gameboy"-like gaming. The camera will be available immediately for $199 from "leading retailers like Best Buy and Circuit City".

The 5 megapixel CMOS sensor can record still images (up to 10 megapixels with interpolation) and 640x480 MPEG-4 movies at 30 frames per second. The device also acts as a video game player (notice the control pad and buttons in the image above), digital music player, and digital voice recorder. It can also record direct to SD media from an external video source, like a TV or DVD player, for playback while you're on the go.

The camera package includes a camera pouch, lithium-ion battery, USB cable, AV cable, charger, stereo earphones, remote controller, wrist strap, driver software, Mr. Photo 3 software, VideoWorks6 software, and user’s manual.
