Editor of DigitalCameraReview.com on Shutterbug Magazine Radio

I "appeared" on Shutterbug Magazine Radio, hosted by Jack Warren, last Friday (3/16/2007). I got a chance to give my impressions about PMA, listen in to a representative from General Imaging, and chat a bit with Derrick Scott, digital media evangelist for O'Reilly. If you'd like to give the show a listen, it's archived here.

I was primarily on segment 2, which you can listen to here, but also appeared on segment 3, which you can listen to here.

Shutterbug Magazine Radio can be heard every Friday from 12pm to 1pm Pacific time. It's one of many internet radio programs available from wsradio.com.

Sandisk Announces 8GB SDHC Card

During the CeBIT show in Germany last week, Sandisk announced an 8GB SDHC card. Since not everyone has an SDHC card reader yet, they'll be bundling their MicroMate USB 2.0 reader along with the card.

SDHC cards comply with a new SD specification that allows capacities up to 32GB. The previous SD specification only allowed capacities to 2GB. Many new digital cameras are shipping with SDHC support and your camera has to support SDHC if you want to use an SDHC card.

The new 8GB card from Sandisk is a Class 2 device, which guarantees a minimum data transfer rate of 2MB/second.

Upcoming Reviews

Since PMA is now over, we're in full review swing here at DigitalCameraReview.com. Here's a list of upcoming reviews that you should see within the next month or so:

  • Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software
  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W35
  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S700
  • Casio Exilim EX-Z75
  • Pentax Optio A30
  • Pentax Optio W30
  • Pentax Optio E30

In addition to the above, I'm also expecting to get several of Olympus' entry level FE line digital cameras, but they haven't showed up on my doorstep yet.
