The two new digital cameras in Sony's ultra-slim T line are sure to keep the fashion-conscious equipped with the latest cameras. In bodies less than a half-inch thick, the 8 megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-T20 and Cyber-shot DSC-T100 come in multiple colors and the T100 even gets a new 5x optical zoom. The T100 will be available in March for $400 and the T20 will be available in April for $330.

Both cameras can capture 8 megapixels of resolution. The T100, however, gets a 5x optical zoom, 3 inch screen, and comes in red, black, and silver. The T20 has a 3x optical zoom, 2.5 inch screen and comes in pink, black, silver, and white.

Both cameras are capable of HD output to your TV. This is one of Sony's strategies with their latest models - to get you connecting your HD output capable camera to your HD TV. A docking station with remote will be available that can connect to you A/V setup via a component cable so you can plug in your camera, sit back, and view your images in their high definition glory. Sony will also be offering a package that includes the docking station, HD component cable, remote control, and high-definition printer that can spit out a print in 45 seconds. To fit your widescreen display, the new Sony cameras can capture images in 16:9 format.

Anyway, back to the cameras...

They're both equipped with the Sony Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization system to counteract blur from camera shake. They're able to shoot at sensitivities up to ISO 3200 and Sony's Clear RAW noise reduction technology is included to solve some of the graininess that digital noise causes in images.

The brains behind the features in Sony's new T cameras is the Bionz imaging processor. This processor allows faster image processing, quick camera operation and better battery life. Start up times are less than one second and the cycle time between images is about one second. The T100 can take an estimated 380 shots per charge and the T20 can take about 340 shots per charge.

Sony is also including a new 9-point AF system and their facial detection system that sets focus, exposure, and flash control based on the faces in the image.

Images can be stored on 28MB of internal memory and there is a Memory Stick Duo slot to get real image storing capability.

Sony will also be including several in-camera editing features. The Dynamic Range Optimizer, also seen on the Sony Alpha digital SLR, improves the image exposure and tonality before the image data gets compressed to JPEG. You will also be able to apply several filters, like a partial color filter to emphasize a particular color, a soft edge filter, or a filter that creates a fishbowl effect. In-camere red-eye correction will also be available.
