HP Photosmart R707 "Recall"
HP, along with the Consumer Products Safety Commission, issued a recall for about 679,000 HP Photosmart R707 digital cameras worldwide (224,000 in the US), following a report of a camera catching fire and damaging the camera and base. Apparently, the fire was caused when a camera with non-rechargeable batteries was plugged into the charging base. To fix the issue HP has developed a firmware update to remedy the problem. The firmware will prevent the camera from charging the batteries if non-rechargeable batteries are inserted.
